Wait- What? How Many Indie Polish Brands Are Out There?

The other night, I saw a friend's list of indie polish brands.

We all know there have been many indie polish brands popping up over the past year, but I had no idea there were this many.

I was so surprised at the size of the list- at the time of this post, there are 166 different brands on it- with links to every one included!

My friend Jen, who's blog, xoxo-jen, holds the huge list, started it after seeing a list of 27 brands that Haayleyy, of Polish Rehabposted on the Makeup Alley Nail Care Board in February. She thanks Haayleyy and for the inspiration to start this list, providing her with a list to start with and gives her the credit for coming up with the idea to start it. Then she flew with it! Check it out: XOXOJen's Indie Polish Shops list.

Jen's site is full of all kinds of indie brand things, so make sure to check out more than just the list! I love the detail and effort that goes into so many indie brands packages! Here's a few indie brand polish pictures Jen let me share (I played with making a collage for the 1st time) from her site:

I have been out of the loop for quite a while - I can only think of... 6 off of the top of my head and without looking at the list I'm about to link here.

How many can you think of off of the top of your head?

Now I'd love some help from all of you!

Like I mentioned above, I've been completely out of the loop and have only heard of a few brands, but I really want to know more, so if you don't mind, please help me out by answering this little poll I've written up in the comments section.

~How many have you indie brands have you tried?
~Which ones?
~Any favs you'd highly rec?
~How have your experiences been in dealing with these small brands?

Thanks so much for any thoughts and opinions you're willing to take the time to share with me- as much as I like to research everything, you'd be helping me out so much!

A final note: I'd like to give a huge thank you to Jen for allowing me to share her hard work here!

*Edit* I have added on to this post here. Please read and share more thoughts here.

Indies have taken over the polish world! I have tried maybe a half dozen brands. There's too many for me to try to try.

That's all I can think of.

~How have your experiences been in dealing with these small brands? Most of them provide good service and quick shipping, there are few that are outstanding and two that I may avoid.

I love Cult Nails! I've tried a few - great formula and colors. They do have sales once in a while.

Yep! They have great polishes! I just did a post on a couple not too long ago!

Thank you so much for your info! I didn't even think of a couple of these as indie brands even though I guess they are and I have some!

How many have you indie brands have you tried? Which ones?
Four: a-england, Cult Nails, NerdLacquer and Rescue Beauty Lounge. I also put in an order today from Happy Hands for a polish from their I've Made a Huge Mistake (I couldn't resist, I'm a huge Arrested Development fan!)
Any favorites you'd highly recommend?
Every single a-england polish I own is incredible, unique and easy flowing. While I've only ever ordered them through Llarowe's site, Adina offers free international shipping from the UK if you choose to order directly and often has customer appreciation sales. Cult Nails is another brand with high quality unique colors and great customer appreciation. Maria and her husband are always on Facebook interacting with their customers and seem to genuinely care about their fans.
How have your experiences been in dealing with these small brands?
On the whole, my experiences have been positive. I had some issues with Nerd Lacquer - back in March I messaged her requesting a custom listing as I would be out of town during her restock and wanted to be certain I could snatch up some colors a friend had been eyeing for her birthday, but despite promising the listing, it never went up. Then again, the issues with her disappearing have been well documented so that's old news. I've never had issues with RBL and Ji seems to appreciate her customers but as much as I love the four RBL polishes I own - the Real Housewives of the Tudor Dynasty collection - I do think they're far overpriced.
